Levels of WFTDA NSO Certification
Level 1
Non-skating officials who have attended a WFTDA Officiating Clinic and demonstrated knowledge of the duties required to officiate WFTDA sanctioned play:
- Attendance at a WFTDA Officiating Clinic
- Verification of passed NSO Certification Rules and Procedures Test
- Experience as an NSO in five (5) bouts, regulation and/or sanctioned
- Signed WFTDA Officiating Code of Conduct
- Application for Certification
Level 2
Able to perform non-skating official duties for WFTDA sanctioned interleague play:
- Must submit three (3) NSO Performance Evaluations from WFTDA member leagues (NOT the NSO's home league). These may be from interleague regulation or sanctioned bouts.
- Verification of passed NSO Certification Rules and Procedures Test
- Signed WFTDA Officiating Code of Conduct
- Application for Certification
Level 3
Able to exceptionally perform non-skating official duties for WFTDA sanctioned interleague play:
- Must have officiated at least five (5) WFTDA Interleague bouts (regulation and/or sanctioned) prior to application
- Must submit five (5) NSO Performance Evaluations from WFTDA member leagues (NOT the NSO's home league). These may be from interleague regulation or sanctioned bouts.
- Verification of passed NSO Certification Rules and Procedures Test
- Received at least one (1) NSO Certification Endorsement
- Signed WFTDA Officiating Code of Conduct
- Current Level 2 Certification or higher
- Application for Certification
Level 4
Able to exceptionally perform non-skating official duties for the highest level of WFTDA competitive play:
- Must have officiated at least seven (7) WFTDA Interleague bouts (regulation and/or sanctioned) prior to application
- Must submit seven (7) NSO Performance Evaluations from WFTDA member leagues (NOT the NSO's home league); three (3) of those Performance Evaluations must be from a Head NSO, two (2) must be from a Head Referee. These may be from interleague regulation or sanctioned bouts.
- Letter of recommendation from at least one (1) Level 3 or higher certified official (NSO or referee)
- Verification of passed NSO Certification Rules and Procedures Test
- Received at least two (2) NSO Certification Endorsements
- Signed WFTDA Officiating Code of Conduct
- Current Level 3 Certification or higher
- Application for Certification
Level 5
Able to exceptionally fulfill all non-skating official duties and administrative tasks and responsibilities of a WFTDA Tournament Head Non-Skating Official, and be able to exceptionally perform all non-skating official duties for the highest level of WFTDA competitive play:
- Must have officiated at least seven (7) WFTDA Interleague bouts (regulation and/or sanctioned) prior to evaluation, one (1) of which must be a WFTDA tournament
- Must submit seven (7) NSO Performance Evaluations (NOT the NSO's home league); three (3) of those Performance Evaluations must be from a Head NSO, two (2) must be from a Head Referee, the final two (2) may come from any source. These may be from interleague regulation or sanctioned bouts.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation from Level 3 or higher certified officials, one (1) of which must be a certified referee
- Verification of passed NSO Certification Rules and Procedures Test
- Received four (4) NSO Certification Endorsements
- Previous experience as Tournament Head Non-Skating Official at a WFTDA Tournament or equivalent multi-day, multi-bout event
- Signed WFTDA Officiating Code of Conduct
- Current Level 4 Certification or higher
- Application for Certification
